The demands imposed by trying to make a chair that functions well means that simple utility plays a dominant role in this work. The technical challenges here are considerable not only because of the stresses the leather undergoes in order to produce such forms, but also because of the stresses it must withstand when the chair is used. Making chairs where the leather is such a significant structural component is to my knowledge unprecedented. |
