A Question of Description

Solo Exhibition, Leo Kamen Gallery, Toronto

A Question of Description represents an investigation of the art of description, and of the language of art and allegory. I am posing self-referential questions about the act of seeing and interpreting, and about the nature of representation and art-making. The text, barely legible, acts as a counterpoint to the imagery. The imagery represents a balance between the sensuous and the cerebral, the physical and the spiritual, abstraction and representation. Divergent images are juxtaposed in each drawing with no apparent logical connection, yet multilinear stories can be read.
