Brooch: Split #1

This sterling silver etched brooch has been etched and textured with a complex pattern. The plate has been split and opened up to create a three-dimensional form. One overlap has been soldered in place; the other connected with a silver tube and a tiny gold rivet. Size is 75 mm (3") wide and 39 mm (1.5") high. It could be worn horizontally or vertically with the double pin back (stainless steel). This piece was shown in the exhibition 36 Brooches at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, an exhibition representing jewellers from across Canada.
